About Us:

"Sincerely explore for yourself, are you here or not? Are you in your body or oblivious, or only aware of parts of it? When I say, “Are you in your body?” I mean, “Are you completely filling your body?” I want to know whether you are in your feet, or just have feet. Do you live in them, or are they just things you use when you walk? Are you in your belly, or do you just know vaguely that you have a belly? Or is it just for food? Are you really in your hands, or do you move them from a distance? Are you present in your cells, inhabiting and filling your body? If you aren’t in your body, what significance is there in your experience this moment? Are you preparing that you can be here in the future? Are you setting up conditionins by saying to yourself, “When such and such happens, I’ll have time, I’ll be here.” If you are not here, what are you saving yourself for?"

Howdy-doody honeybee. If we haven't "officially" met, consider this a big virtual hug hello. My name's Heather Brittain and aside from being a big hugger I'm also a once-upon-a-time registered nurse, master-certified holistic life + wellness coach, and experienced registered yoga teacher. I specialize in (meaning I'm a forever student of) Yin Yoga, Chinese Medicine, and Meditation. Fancy titles aside I'd rather just be called, friend.

The Come As You Are Yin Studio is intentionally designed to be a soft place to land your bones, rather than an all-encompassing/every-format yoga practice. This practice is intended to meet you as a quiet landing pad in a loud, busy, crazed world. It's carved space for rest and reprieve, your offering to turn in and come home, and a supplement to all the other types of movements and practices you love (power yoga, strength training, running, rowing, climbing, dancing, etc.) Our bodies and minds require and deserve the balance of yin and yang; of strength and surrender. In order to support this approach and your personal practice, there are a few different options to practice in the community.

Plop some cozy pants on, have a look around, and I hope to slow down with you soon!
